PS3 and Xbox 360 Versions of Mortal Kombat X Being Handled by High Voltage

It has been revealed that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Mortal Kombat X is being handled by High Voltage Software.

Speaking with Videogamer, publisher Warner Bros. confirmed that NetherRealm Studios is “100% focused on developing for next-gen” and hence isn’t taking lead on the last-gen versions.

NetherRealm is not developing the PS3/360 versions. High Voltage is our partner focused on developing the PS3/360 and the team is giving those versions its full attention. All platforms for this game are built on NetherRealm’s tech with oversight from the NetherRealm.

Before this, High Voltage Software worked on Injustice: Gods Among Us – Ultimate Edition for the PS4 and PC, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected and Gat Out of Hell for the PS4 and Xbox One, and more. Having worked on Injustice would perhaps be enough to assure fans that Mortal Kombat X is in good hands.

Mortal Kombat X is due for release on April 14. Pre-orders for the game and its various special/limited editions are now open. Remember that Goro is a playable character this time around and you can gain access to him by purchasing the game right now. Else you’ll always be able to pay for a future DLC pack to add him to your roster.
