Pokemon Go Revenue Is Insane, 60 Million Monthly Players

Pokemon Go revenue is now over 1.2 billion dollars, according to the latest stats provided by App intelligence company Apptopia. The game earned $960 million in 2016 while its revenue growth has been stable since, helping it go pass $1.2 billion.

The total download number stands at 752 million and previous numbers from Niantic itself confirmed 65 million playing the game each month. The growth in revenue, as well as player engagement, seems to be the result of successful in-game events and other incentives to keep coming back.

We continue to be inspired by the passion of the 65+ million people from around the world playing Pokémon GO each month. We’re still at the beginning of the journey and there’s a lot more to come. With spring arriving in the northern hemisphere, players can look forward to all-new cooperative social gameplay experiences in Pokémon GO that will give Trainers new and exciting reasons to get back into the sunshine

However, recent numbers for June show that 60 Million players are in-game and 20% of them launch the app at least twice a day. The number is 5 million lower compared to the data we received in March. Still, the revenue growth is stable which means players are spending money on Pokemon Go.

The buzz died down from last year for sure and the augmented reality game isn’t as hot as it was in the months following its release. But there is still more than enough life left in Pokemon Go which can pave way for other Nintendo games to arrive on Mobile.

While Super Mario’s mobile outing failed to meet its goal, there is still hope for other Nintendo properties to do well on mobile.
