Playstation Plus Updates for October Includes Broken Age

Playstation Plus in October may be losing Driveclub, and won't be getting Assassin's Creed 4, but it's still getting Broken Age and Super Meat Boy instead.

Sony have revealed their October updates for PlayStation Plus, and while some may be left disappointed it isn’t all bad. One thing that is confirmed is the lack of rumoured Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.

Another disappointment for some will also be the fact that Drive Club PlayStation Plus Edition will be removed in October. If you’ve not got that downloaded already, you’ll have until October 6 to get it onto your console.

In more positive news here are the games that will be added this October:

  • Broken Age (PlayStation 4/PlayStation Vita)
  • Super Meat Boy (PlayStation 4/PlayStation Vita)
  • Unmechanical Extended (PlayStation 4/PlayStation 3)
  • Kickbeat (PlayStation Vita/PlayStation 3)
  • Kung Fu Rabbit (PS Vita/ PlayStation 3)
  • Chariot (PlayStation 3)

Being Removed in October:

  • Grow Home
  • Super Time Force Ultra
  • Twisted Metal
  • Teslagrad
  • Xeodrifter
  • LA Mulana EX
  • Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition

The two highlights for this month are obviously Double Fine’s Broken Age, and Super Meat Boy. For those who haven’t played these games yet it is the perfect chance to, especially now that Broken Age is complete.

Created by Grim Fandango creator Tim Schafer, the 2D point and click style adventure features the voice talents of Elijah Wood, and Jennifer Hale. A timeless coming-of-age tale it tells the story of Vella Tartine and Shay Volta. Two teenagers in strangely similar situations, the player switches between each individual story which may take place in radically different worlds but still feel strangely similar.

Super Meat Boy is a popular indie title featuring a small red cube-shaped character that is attempting to save his girlfriend Bandage Girl from the hands of Dr. Fetus. Featuring 300 super hard levels the game requires split-second timing and pinpoint controls. Expect to be annoyed a lot by this one.
