PlayStation Network Downtime Announced, Services to Be Offline Later Today

PlayStation Network downtime has been announced by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Players won’t be able to access online multiplayer as well as web services from Sony Interactive Entertainment. According to the announcement made by Sony, the maintenance is going to last for 0.5 hours.

Players will be able to play their games offline, enjoy the story mode, but multiplayer access is going to be unavailable.  All consoles including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and even PlayStation Vita are going to have limited access to different services.

During this time, you will also won’t be able to access PlayStation Store and PlayStation Video as well in addition to account management. However, you will still be able to login to your PlayStati0n Network account.

We apologize for any inconvenience. We recommend activating your PS4™ as your primary console before maintenance begins so you can continue to play most games and use 3rd party services during maintenance. To activate your console, sign in to your PlayStation™Network profile and select [Settings] > [PlayStation™Network/Account Management] > [Activate as Your Primary PS4] > [Activate].

For the time being, all PlayStation Network services are online. Keep an eye on the status page to be aware of the PlayStation Network Downtime when it goes into effect.

The downtime will improve performance and allow Sony fix some of the backend issues of its gaming network.
