PlayStation 4 Update 2.51 is Now Live; Operation Quality, Stability Improved

A new PlayStation 4 update titled firmware 2.51 has been released by Sony today. It brings no new features but stability and general improvements.

If you were looking forward to some new features that Sony might have planned for you with the latest firmware update of PlayStation 4, this one is not for you.

However, Sony has released an update titled firmware 2.51 which is now available for download on your consoles.

Naturally, the said update is mandatory and you will be required to start the download as soon as you fire up the console next time if you reside in North America and/ or Europe.

There is not much to share as far as the patch notes are concerned. The PlayStation 4 update comes with just two lines of patch notes in its entirety. Here they are:

  • System software stability during use of some features has been improved.
  • Operation quality during use of some applications has been improved.

The size of the patch is 245MB and should not take too much of your gaming time.

That being said, we are not sure what bug fixes this update has brought specifically because one bug that would prompt the users continuously about the Rest Mode has apparently not been fixed.

As you can see, no new features have been added through the PlayStation 4 update 2.51 but that is not surprising since another update will probably follow later on and bring whatever Sony has in plans for you – and they just added some cool features in the update 2.50!

Keep checking back for more on the console and the updates that are being made to it.
