Now since it’s an MMO, you can run into different problems that may not let you start or play the game properly. If that happens, you can refer to this guide for workarounds to general issues:
#1 Planetside2.exe Stopped Working
You need to unplug the USB controller from your system. It’s usually the Microsoft’s game pad but if you have anything else attached except from the primary peripherals like keyboard, mouse or earphones, detach it to fix the problem.
#2 Poor Performance/Low Frame Rates
If you are meeting the recommended system requirements for the game and still getting the poor frame rates, you should try the new beta driver for Nvidia cards.
#3 Can’t Login
The European players mostly are having these issues. It’s a known problem, and the developers are trying to fix it. If you still haven’t been able to register, try to be patient a bit.
#4 Planetside 2 Launcher Crash Fix
I am not sure about it, but it can work for you.
Go to the website and make a new account. Choose America as your region. Now launch the game from steam and put the American credentials of the account in the Planetside 2 launcher. Run it and it may work out well.
#5 AME ERROR G12 MALFUNCTION
The error is usually resolved by driver updates but if it doesn’t work for you, you can read in detail about the “G” errors on the official forums of the game.
#6 Windows 8 Compatibility Issues
If you are unable to run the game on Windows 8, try the following:
- Disable any third party applications like MSI Afterburner etc.
- Unplug any additional USB devices like the controller/gamepad etc.
#7 Planetside 2 Crashes to Desktop (Win 32-bit)
Sadly, you will need to have a 64-bit OS to avoid the crashes. Otherwise, you will have to wait till they release some patch to fix it.
#8 Crashes After 30-60 Mins of Gameplay
Again, it’s the low memory and the 32-bit OS that is causing problems here. You need to update your OS to 64-bit and the problem will go away.
#9 Play Now Button Disappears
As a workaround, try changing the language (below the play now button) and then shifting it back to normal.
#10 User Interface Bugged – Fix
The problem can be fixed if you set the User DPI or System DPI settings to 100%. It should not be more than 100%.
#11 Planetside 2 Startup Hang/Freeze Fix
You need to make sure that launchpad.exe, awesomiumprocess.exe, and planetside2.exe are added as exceptions in any Firewall/Anti-Virus software you currently are running.

#12 Steam Installation Failure
To fix this issue, exit Steam by right clicking Steam tray icon and choosing the Exit option. Wait for Steam to fully close any open windows and dialogues. Now start Steam again and Install PlanetSide 2 from its Steam page instead of Library.
