We talked about Jeff Kaplan mentioning how hard it already is to update and patch Overwatch on the platforms that it is already available on and that he is open to the idea of an Overwatch Nintendo Switch Port
We have some new updates regarding that story. Picking up where we left off here is what Jeff Kaplan has to say this time:
Our first couple of patches would come out on PC first and then later on the consoles. And a lot of that is because you’re working with Microsoft and Sony, and you want to be compliant to their ecosystems. Adding a third ecosystem to that just adds a lot of complexity for us, as well.
Kaplan also said that just because an Overwatch Nintendo Switch Port is not out yet does not mean that it has been removed from consideration. According to him:
But I always like to tell people we’re very open-minded about what platforms we could be on. Just because we’re not on a platform right now, it doesn’t mean we won’t reconsider it in the future, so we stay aware of all these things.
The new Uprising event is also starting from tomorrow and you should keep your eyes open for it. It is based on the uprising event that took place 7 years ago in the Overwatch universe. Part of the message that flashes up on screen reads as follows:
King’s Row uprising entering into record seven years ago. Security clearance required: confidential
Things could get interesting and with only 24 hours left to go, I for one am very excited about what could be in store. There is also a new comic coming out sometime soon which might give us some hints regarding upcoming heroes of the game.
