So before I start just wanted to clarify that this is just my opinion so not every one would agree to it. So without further adieu lets begin our countdown for the Top 10 Zombie Games Of All Time.

Top 10 Zombie Games Of All Time

#10 Dead Island

While the Dead Island games have lost their charm with time, but one must not deny that the first game in the franchise was almost a fresh idea. The Game Introduced survival elements with first-person melee combat, and you could also use guns if you were able to find them.

Granted the game was full of bugs and glitches but the game also had a tension in its gameplay and the level design was awesome and the graphics were pretty good for its time. Techland, the developer behind the game, then went on to introduce Dying Light, which is considered to be one of the best games of 2015, and also was a critical and financial success.

#9 Plants vs. Zombies

The idea of Zombies invading your home nd you have no defense but a bunch of plants in your backyard is already a fun concept in theory and PopCap Games has backed it up with fun tower defense gameplay. The game has been a critically and financially success for its developer and publisher EA, that is why the game spawned a sequel.

Plant vs Zombies

Developer PopCap filled the game with plenty of humor, such as the themed zombies and you guessed it the Disco Zombie is one of the best.

#8 The House Of The Dead

The House Of The Dead is one of the most popular zombie game, while I was considering Typing Of The Dead for no 8 but the original game has a special lace in my heart, as I have wonderful memories of playing this game with my friends.

While the game is an on rails first person shooter, but there is something to this game that sets it apart from other games even the recent ones. And the voice acting might not seem quite horrific now, but it gave me quite some nightmares.

#7 Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare

Strictly speaking Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare is not a standalone game, neither Read Dead Redemption was designed as a Zombie game, it is an expansion to Red Dead Redemption. But the gameplay for this expansion is so satisfying that you would spend hours in this game and it would feel like moments.

Rockstar introduced players to a huge new story, with a bunch of new sidequests, and of course zombies. Successfully combining the feel of Red Dead Redemption pre-zombies with this new horror feel, Undead Nightmare is tense, at times humorous.

#6 Call of Duty Black Ops-Zombies

While Treyarch’s Call Of Duty World At War Zombies mode started it all, the inclusion of Zombies mode with ever another sequel, but Duty Black Ops Zombies mode made it much more popular with a humorous story and combining it with a usual Call Of Duty gameplay formula.

Black Ops allows you to fight zombies as John F. Kennedy, Robert McNamara, Richard Nixon and Fidel Castro, which is in itself awesome.

#5 Dead Rising 2

Dead Rising was an awesome game, and what this game started Dead Rising 2 improved upon it in almost every aspect of the game. Which of course also makes it the best Dead Rising game ever(period).

Dead Rising 2 improved on the boss fights, there are more weapon customization, more zombie gore, and a greater sense of fun in general.

#4 Left 4 Dead 2

Left 4 Dead 2 almost feels like an expansion to the original Left 4 Dead, but Valve creatively introduced new characters, maps, zombie types and weapons which made the game a more refreshed experience than feeling like a rehash.

These new zombie types, which co-exist with the previous enemies in the first game, adds more tension to the game with hoards getting so big at times that it often feels rather claustrophobic.

#3 Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4 was sort of a soft reboot that was required for the series back in 2005, and the risk Capcom took with this game makes it even more worthy to be mentioned in this list. Personally, I hail this as the best Resident Evil game, this was the first Resident evil game that I played and honestly speaking this game caused a lot of nightmares for me.

The game is all about life or death situation the whole game through, even the horrible control for the PC version added to the tension of the game. I highly recommend you to play this Resident Evil game if you have not already, also Capcom has released the remastered version of the game for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

#2 Dying Light

Dying Light is a fantastic zombie game that incorporates parkour and crazy free-running. Techland already had the experience to make zombie games like Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide, and the developer improved upon it significantly.

The gameplay for the Dying Light is so versatile that It’s very rare that you’ll be doing the same thing twice, and we all know that variety is the key in the world of video games.

#1 The Last Of Us

The Last Of Us is considered the best looking game on the last generation of consoles, and it still holds its own in front of many current gen consoles games, and that is saying something. The game is not only a zombie surival game but it put a new spin on the zombie genre and introduced us a new type of zombies that we had never imagined.

The Last Of Us is the very definition of zombie game done right. The game introduced us to a more realistic take on the zombie apocalypse, which is very dark and unforgiving.

So there it is my Top ten Zombie Games of all time. Did I miss nay zombie game that you think should be present in the list? Let me know in the comments.
