The director of Moon Studios, the team responsible for the fantastic Ori and the Blind Forest, has ensured that this beautiful action adventure will have better animations on the Nintendo Switch than those of the original PC and Xbox One thanks to the great experience that the development team has acquired with its technology.
When the original was released, Ori’s animations were displayed at 30 frames per second but now, in this new version for the Nintendo console, they have been updated to 60fps.
Thomas Mahler, executive manager of the studio and director of Ori and the Blind Forest also made the following statement.
Keep in mind that we have been working with our graphics engine for 10 years and have overcome several releases and now also a sequel. A lot of the optimization work we have done in Ori and the Will of the Wisps has ended up taking the Blind Forest version for Nintendo Switch, so this has been a good side effect.
Mahler specifically pointed out that the movement of the game on Switch is even smoother than on other platforms. The debut date is approaching and if you have never played it and want to know how it plays, know that you can still try out the demo.
Nintendo reported that all Switch users can try Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition, thanks to a demo on the Nintendo eShop. So, if you want to download this demo, it will only be necessary to enter the Nintendo eShop and search for it, either in the featured games section or, if it does not appear, do it manually in the search section.
It is important to mention that the version that will arrive on Nintendo Switch will be the Definitive Edition, this means that you can find additional content with respect to the original version, such as new areas, skills, story sequences, an expanded soundtrack and multiple difficulty options.
In this expanded version of the game, we can discover more of Naru’s past in two new environments and discover new secrets in Nibel thanks to a new teleport system between scenarios.
After passing through PC and Xbox One, Ori and the Blind Forest goes on sale on Nintendo Switch on September 27.
Microsoft also confirmed, together with Studio MDHR, the launch of Cuphead on Nintendo Switch, the indie success of Xbox One and PC. Along with this, they also announced support in the online network of Redmond’s company, Xbox Live.
Microsoft said that they will go slowly with each game and will follow a strict procedure to ensure maximum compatibility for all their games on the Nintendo Switch.
