Intel Kaby Lake H Series, Nvidia GTX 1050 Mobile Coming CES 2017

It seems that the new Kaby lake H Series CPUs are not the only thing that we are going to get to see at CES 2017. We will also get our first taste of Nvidia GTX 1050 mobile GPUs.

The new mobile GPUs are important as it is possible that these will reduce the prices of gaming laptops significantly. The Nvidia GTX 1050 mobile GPU has the following specs:

  • Base core clock: 1490MHz
  • Boost core clock: 1624MHz
  • CUDA cores: 768
  • Memory bandwidth: 112.1GB/s
  • Memory type and size: GDDR5, 4GB
  • Memory interface: 128-bit
  • ROPs / TMUs: 32 / 64
  • Supported Technologies: OpenCL 1.2, CUDA 6.1, NVIDIA PhysX, DirectCompute 5.0

Reports claim that the Ti version of the Nvidia GTX 1050 mobile GPU has a higher clock speed as compared to the desktop version of the GPU. It is also better than previous generation mobile GPUs so that is also some great news to take away and to keep you excited for CES 2017.

Some of the Kaby Lake versions of slim notebooks and mobile devices have been released but we are going to get the high-end Kaby Lake H Series CPUs at CES 2017. These will be the CPUs that will be housed in the high-end notebooks and gaming laptops so be sure to tune in for that as well.

Asus, Gigabyte, MSI and Lenovo are some of the big names that will be showcasing products that feature the upcoming Kaby Lake H Series CPUs as well as the Nvidia GTX 1050 mobile GPUs. Asus and MSI have a respectable name when it comes to laptop gaming and it will be interesting to see what kind of price to performance combination we will see at CES 2017.
