Nioh Screenshots and Artwork Revealed

Now that Nioh has been announced once again by Koei Tecmo, new artwork and screen shots have been revealed by Japanese games magazine Famitsu.

One game revealed at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference that caused some surprise was Nioh. A Playstation 4 exclusive this was a game that was first showcased in 2005 and was destined for the Playstation 3.

Now that time has moved on Koei Tecmo introduced us to the updated trailer. Now that the cat is out of the bag we are finding out a few more details about the game. This includes new images that were revealed by the Japanese magazine, Famitsu. Today DualShockers revealed some images from the magazine including the games artwork.

One thing that was very noticeable about Nioh was how this version of the game was the influence on it by the Dark Souls games. The combat was similar as was the overall look of the game. To be fair to Nioh the style is more of a Samurai game rather than the medieval feel of Dark Souls but combat does have a similar aesthetic.

Looking at the images revealed for Nioh it looks like a Samurai’s worst nightmare, full of demons for him to battle. Other than the images and what we can see in the trailer not much else has been revealed about the game. We do know though that it will be hard, with a Koei Tecmo representative saying that it will be “impossible to clear on your first try”.

With games like this that first revealed years ago, then returning this year there is obvious excitement, for those who remember them at least. It’s been quite a year for games like this, especially with the Last Guardian reveal, Shenmue 3 and of course the upcoming release of Fallout 4.
