Nioh Errors, Crashes, And Fixes

Here we will discuss all the Nioh errors that PC users are experiencing and will provide a possible solution or workaround.

1- Nioh Crashes
This is one of the Nioh Errors that PC users have been facing as the game crashes as soon as it launched. While the cause of this issue is not known but here are some things you can do to resolve this issue.

For some users, the game is crashing while playing in the Fullscreen mode. All you have to do is run the game in Windowed mode to resolve this issue until an official fix comes.

As for those whose game is crashing at launch, try to update your GOU drivers to the latest versions and make sure you are not running MSI AfterBurner. Turn it off and launch the game, and then turn the MSI AfterBurner and the game will not crash. Just make sure the MSI AfterBurner is closed while you launch Nioh.

2 – Nioh Black Screen
Some PC users are experiencing Black Screen when they launch the game. To resolve the issue run the game and press “alt+Enter” to run the game in Windowed mode. If you get the display then the issue is with your default resolution that might be higher than your native resolution.

Just select change the resolution to your Monitor’s native resolution and then you can play the game in fullscreen without the fear of seeing a black screen.

3 – Nioh Missing “.dll” Files

This is a common error that occurs mostly for Windows 7 users due to the lack of the updated OS or Visual C++ Redistributable not being up-to-date. All you have to do is update your OS and the issue will be resolved and if the OS is updated and the issue persists then just install the Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 which will automatically update the file or will put it in your system if it is missing.

4 – Nioh Stretched 16:10 Aspect Ratio
This is another on of Nioh errors that players have been facing. The game apparently doesn’t support 16:10 Aspect Ratio and causes the image to stretch. The solution we will provide here will restrict the stretching of the visuals but, with the help of black bars, so if you are okay with this then follow the following steps.

If you are using a Nvidia GPU, then open up the Nvidia Control Panel and select “Adjust desktop size and position” and set the scaling option to the Aspect Ratio and select GPU for “Perform Scaling on” and tick the “Override the scaling mode set by games and programs”.

Open the Nioh launched by right-clicking it in Steam Library and select the resolution closest to 16:10 Aspect Ratio. Also, keep in mind that “High” rendering mode is for 4K and “Medium” rendering mode if for 1080p. This will minimize the stretching.

5 – Nioh Stuttering, Low FPS, Bad Performance
Being a PC game performance issues are bound to happen and PC users have been experiencing FPS drops, stuttering and bad performance overall.

To resolve these issues make sure you the latest drivers installed or at least the Game Ready Drivers for Nioh as they bring the game specific optimizations. This should resolve low FPS issue for you.

Also, make sure no unnecessary background processes are running that could potentially cause the performance of the game to drop or cause stuttering. Open up the task manager and close all the processes that are taking unnecessary disk/CPU resources and this should resolve the issue.

6 – Nioh No Sound, Audio Issues
Some PC players have been experiencing audio issues in some cases there is no sound at all. To resolve this issue Go to Playback Devices by right-clicking on the sound icon in the bottom left corner of the desktop.

Here you will see a list of devices, all you have to do is disable all other sound devices except for the one that you want to use and the issue should resolve and this solution might also work for those who are using integrated sound cards.

Furthermore, some are experiencing strange buzz with the game sound which makes playing the game difficult. The solution to this issue is to playback devices by right clicking the audio icon in the bottom right corner, select the audio device that is enabled, for most it will be “Speakers”, and open properties. Select “Advanced” and set the audio quality.

There will be quite a few options and not every option will resolve this issue and you will have to experiment a little bit. This should resolve the issue.

7 – Nioh Long Loading Times
Not many PC users have been experiencing this issue in Nioh and the solution is quite simple. Make sure no unnecessary background processes are running that are using your HDD. Close these application/processes to speed up the loading time.
