According to industry analyst Michael Pachter, he has heard from developers themselves that Nintendo Switch is the easiest to develop games for among the big three consoles.
Ease of development will play a major role for the console getting third party developer support. However, how the console is marketed and consumer’s appeal towards hybrid platform will also be major factors in the console’s success.
There are a lot of rumors about the upcoming console circulating the internet and the most recent rumor suggests that the console will be less powerful compared to a standard PlayStation 4.
The report further suggests that Nintendo Switch will be using a Maxwell architecture based graphics card as Nvidia’s Tegra processor is not yet ready for Pascal architecture which is used in the GTX 10 series graphics cards.
We know that the console will be a hybrid of a handheld and home console by using a dock to attach the handheld to. According to a report, Switch’s performance drops by 40% when it is not connected to the dock.
Nintendo Switch is expected to launch in March 2017 but no specific release date or price has been announced by Nintendo.
