Nintendo of America Hires a Sales VP Named Bowser, For Real

So yeah, this just happened. Remember the main antagonist in the Mario series that we have had a love-hate relationship with due to those childhood memories?

Well, Nintendo of America actually hired a guy named Bowser to the post of Sales Vice President in United States.

The guy’s full name is Doug Bowser, and he is not just known for his name. Bowser has been the Vice President of Global Business Planning at EA from 2007 until little while ago, and now we got this from the company that made Bowser:

Nintendo of America has hired a new Vice President to lead the United States sales organization with a name that’s well-known in the Mushroom Kingdom. Effective today, Doug Bowser (no relation to the King Koopa and Mario’s longtime nemesis) will oversee a variety of sales-related functions.

Whether Doug was hired due to his professional expertise in the field of sales or merely for the fact that he has such an iconic last name, Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing says he is an outstanding addition:

Doug Bowser is an outstanding addition to our Nintendo team, as he brings a deep blend of both consumer package goods and video game sales experience. I know he will work tirelessly with our internal and external partners to ensure the broad Nintendo product lineup of hardware, software and accessories are strongly represented throughout U.S. retail points of distribution.

King Koopa for the win!
