Fortnite and Ninja Will Take Over Times Square on New Year’s Eve

Ninja and his sponsorship partner Red Bull will be streaming Fortnite live from New York’s Times Square on New Year's Eve.

Richard Tyler Blevins, commonly known as “Ninja” is an American Twitch streamer and internet personality. Currently, he is the most followed streamer on Twitch with over 11 million followers. Ninja and his sponsorship partner Red Bull will be streaming Fortnite live from New York’s Times Square on New Year’s Eve.

The event will run from 7 PM ET to 7 AM ET.

The news was announced at TwitchCon that the following day Ninja’s personal Twitch channel, will be featuring him playing Fortnite with some other notable guests for various time zones around the world.

When I started in gaming, I never thought that something like this would be possible. NYE has always been fun for gamers because it’s a night where you have a widely accepted excuse to stay up and game, but there’s never been an event in the mainstream that’s actually built around that tradition.

Blevins also told the CEO of Twitch Emmett Shear at TwitchCon in a live Q&A session. “This is just my ultimate NYE Fortnite LAN party with some of my best friends and a few surprises that I hope we as a community can have a lot of fun with.”

However, this is not the first big event in which Ninja is streaming in, Ninja’s previously hosted event was at Las Vegas in April that broke his own previous event record.

Setting Twitch’s highest ever viewer record, for Ninja and his brand this has been a very lucky year with over 11 million followers for his channel and it doesn’t stop there his followers kept rising, this is highest viewer count across the entire platform.

This is not all! Ninja’s other social media channels have also a huge fan following, he has 1 million followers on Instagram, more than 3.5 million Twitter followers, and about 20 million YouTube subscribers.

Ninja makes additional money through sponsorships, appearances, and advertising which includes a recent Samsung commercial, and also he receives other donations.
