China’s Tencent Games recently announced that its TiMi Studio Group is working on a new Pokemon game in collaboration with The Pokémon Company.
The firm didn’t unveil any other information about the upcoming project, including what type of game it is and on what platform it will be released.
However, it appears that the upcoming game is in works for the Mobile platform. Timi Studio Group owned by Tencent is known for developing mobile games. The studio is currently responsible for developing Call of Duty: Mobile and Arena of Valor.
We can expect the new Pokemon game to release sometime next year on platforms like iOS and Android. It’s also possible that the upcoming game releases on Nintendo Switch following the successful launch of Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee!.
The last Pokemon game that arrived on mobile devices is Pokemon Go which as we all know, is an augmented reality (AR) game developed by Niantic.
It’s possible that players will be able to transfer their favorite Pokemon from Pokemon Go to the new Pokemon mobile game that is currently in development. Hopefully, the developers will not restrict the Pokedex of the upcoming game like they did with Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Do note that we are just speculating for now as nothing is officially confirmed yet by Tencent or the Pokemon company.
Until we know more about the game, players can checkout Pokemon Masters by developer DeNA, which is another mobile game in development. Pokemon Masters is a free to play mobile game scheduled to release sometime this year for Android and iOS.
Last week, DeNA Co. and The Pokémon Company released a brand new gameplay trailer of Pokemon Masters. The trailer shows that Masters is a strategy and battling game consisting of 3-on-3 battles.
Pokemon Masters takes place on the island of Pasio, where players will make new friends and fight against other trainers. Interested folks can check out the gameplay trailer of Pokemon Masters.
