New Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom Trailer Is All About Roland, The Mysterious Traveler

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom is releasing this month and Bandai Namco is showing off the main character through a series of trailers showcasing each of them. First, we had Evan’s trailer, the deposed king protagonist who is set to rebuild his kingdom. Now Roland, Evan’s companion is also getting his own trailer.

Roland, who is one of the main characters in Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom, is called the mysterious traveler and there’s a good reason why. As the trailer indicates, Roland is being sent mysteriously to Evan’s world to help him on his quest on rebuilding his kingdom. He will serve as his protector and mentor throughout his journey and act as a tactician in battle.

Even if you haven’t already seen all the gameplay videos out there, you can tell by the trailer that Roland plays a huge role in Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom’s story. When the time comes he has to make a choice: Either travel back to his own world or stay back with Evan and mentor him and assist him in any battles needed. Of course, Roland will play a role in Kingdom mode as well as Skirmish mode.

As we see it, the sequel to the famous JRPG is looking more colorful than ever and Bandai Namco promises that the graphical update from its predecessor will keep players “enthralled from start to finish”. Since it’s inspired by Ghibli Studios (even though Ghibli isn’t involved with its development) colorful graphics are sure to be its most iconic feature.

Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom is releasing on PlayStation 4 and PC on March 23rd. Bandai Namco has also announced a special edition for the game on PlayStation 4 called The Prince’s Edition featuring a physical copy of the game, its season pass as well as a throne themed steelbook showcasing Evan and Roland.

In the meantime, here’s everything you need to know about Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom.
