New Battlefront 2 Mode Has Ewoks Hunting Stormtroopers At Night

A new Battlefront 2 mode has Ewoks hunting stormtroopers on the forest moon of Endor, and it's looking to be a mixture of the old game's Hunt mixed with Halo's Infection game mode.

Players might remember that the original version of Battlefront 2 by Pandemic Studios had a “Hunt” mode, where players could take control of the native species of planets like Endor, Kashyyyk, and Naboo. Now a new Battlefront 2 mode is coming to the game that’s bringing Hunt back in an interesting way.

The mode, which is called Ewok Hunt, takes place on the forest moon of Endor during the night, and is between Ewoks and stormtroopers. Stormtroopers must hold out until an extraction team arrives, but it’s not going to be easy, Even with stormtroopers being armored, equipped with advanced weaponry, and even flashlights, Ewoks can ambush from anywhere with spears, firefly-like creatures known as Wisties, and various other skills.

What makes it worse (for the stormtroopers at least) is that the mode also takes a page out of Halo’s “Infection” gametype. Every stormtrooper that’s killed in battle will respawn on the other side as an Ewok, meaning that as the game continues and more stormtroopers go down, they’ll be fighting more and more Ewoks, which will make their job harder.

Along with that, the new Battlefront 2 mode also will allow a number of Endor-like cosmetics to become available to heroes, such as an Endor skin for Princess Leia and an Endor skin for Han Solo.

Reactions to this game mode might be anywhere from nervous to cathartic; while being surprised by adorable yet savage teddy bears with spears might get a jump or two out of you, if you hated the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi, you might actually take a lot of pleasure in blasting them with a big laser cannon.

The new Battlefront 2 mode Ewok Hunt will be coming out on April 18, so you can start racking up pelts (or stormtrooper helmets) in another week’s time. Good hunting!
