A few days ago, we posted a bit of gameplay from an early mission in Anthem that showed off the capabilities of the Storm, Colossus, and Interceptor Javelins. Now, IGN is going even further in depth to let us know how the Storm Javelin works, and what it’s best at.
The Storm is one of the four different classes of Javelin in Anthem, alongside the Colossus, Interceptor, and Ranger. Each of the classes specialize in a different type of combat, and in the Storm Javelin’s case that includes long-range support and high-damage area of effect attacks. At the same time, however, it’s a glass cannon, capable of throwing out high damage but not capable of surviving for long if it draws too much attention.
While it doesn’t move very fast, being the second slowest Javelin in the game, the Storm makes up for it with a kinesis barrier to protect it during battle, along with a much longer hover time than any other Javelin. It includes a large number of different abilities such as the protective Wind Wall, Fire Orb, Lightning, and more, focusing on either dealing out huge amounts of damage or debuffing enemies.
The Storm Javelin’s wide variety of abilities enables a variety of builds to come around it. Some can be primer builds, which allow you to “prime” an enemy (such as freezing them), then hitting them with a harder attack such as Lightning for greater damage. Another possible build includes a more sniper-esque build, which allows you to thrown down Wind Wall while shooting Fire Orbs through it while keeping yourself safe.
More videos showing off the other Javelins will likely be coming in the future considering Anthem will be releasing on February 22 for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC, but if you want to see the Storm Javelin’s own video, you can follow this link to look at it yourself.
