Need For Speed Payback Size Is Actually Fairly Small, Only 17.8 Gigs

The Need For Speed Payback size for digitally downloading the game has been revealed, and in contrast to absolutely massive games like Forza Motorsport 7’s PC version and its 100 gigabyte download size, the Need For Speed data is actually pretty small, only around 17.8 gigabytes. The game will be releasing on November 10.

Need For Speed Payback is the most recent game in the Need For Speed franchise, taking place in the fictional Fortune City as players take on the role of three different protagonists in order to take down a criminal syndicate known as the House. Players will be able to pick up wrecked cars from the deserts around the city to refurbish them, among other fun mechanics.

We’ve already seen a few little tidbits of gameplay from the game before, both on its reveal and in a few other little videos prior to today, and hopefully we’ll get more before the game releases.

The information about the Need For Speed Payback size comes from its Microsoft store listing, and is actually fairly odd because it’s so much smaller than Forza Motorsport 7. Since Need For Speed has voice acting and cutscenes, not to mention a story mode in general, and Forza Motorsport 7 just has a lot of cars and maps, how much can we expect the game to have?

The size, however, is still just for the Xbox One. We still don’t know how much PC space and Playstation 4 space the game will require, though on PC the game has indicated that you’ll need at least 30 gigs of free space in order to install it.

We’ll likely learn more about the Need For Speed Payback size sometime before the game ends up releasing on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC, but until then we’ll have to look forward to the game when it releases on November 10.
