“Get Over Here” is something your PC must be telling you as Mortal Kombat X has just been released for PC along with other platforms.
Fighting games usually don’t get the same love as the consoles but Mortal Kombat X seems to treat the platform equally. Yes, it’s a good news and I believe you too are as excited as I am.
The game however, is bound to have some issues as happens with almost every other PC game on the launch day. Luckily for you, we have a list of most common issues being faced by gamers along with their possible fixes and workarounds.
#1 Mortal Kombat X Crashes 0xc000007b Error
Although the error usually occurs due to .Net framework malfunctioning (outdated), there can be other reasons. You can use this extensive troubleshooting guide to resolve the issue.
#2 Mortal Kombat X PC Game Crashes on Menu
By now, you might have faced the notorious menu crash. The crash has been reported by a lot of users but somehow, we don’t have any fix or workaround yet. If you have found a workaround, don’t forget to share with us.
For the time being, you can try the following generic workarounds:
- Make sure that you aren’t running any third party applications in the background that could conflict with the game.
- Make sure that your GPU drivers are up to date.
- If you are using a controller, try unplugging it and using keyboard and mouse only.
#3 Mortal Kombat X Game Crashes With “Unknown Error”
First thing you need to do is restart Steam and then your PC. If the error doesn’t go away, try verifying your game files to resolve the issue.
#4 Mortal Kombat X – Game Crashes with D3D Error
It’s a pretty generic error and if you an AMD user, this guide can help you fix it.
#5 Mortal Kombat X – Mouse/Keyboard/Controller Issues
Most users will prefer playing the game with a controller or a fighting stick. If you have them attached, there is a possibility that you may not see your mouse cursor. You will have to navigate using the controller.
If you have mouse trails on in the mouse settings (control panel), disable them as they can cause the cursor to disappear in different games.
#6 Mortal Kombat X Missing Modes/Characters
Some users have reported that characters will appear after you complete the tutorial mode. If that doesn’t work for you, I guess we will have to wait for an official fix. In the meanwhile, you can try verifying your game files to see if anything is missing.
#7 Mortal Kombat X FPS Issues
The 30 FPS lock during cut-scenes is a feature, not a bug. The developer has decided that way so if your FPS drop to half during cut-scenes and special moves, you should not be worried.
#8 Mortal Kombat X Performance Issues
If your PC is good enough and you are still having performance issues (lag/stutter), your game most probably hasn’t been downloaded completely. After the download is complete, it should work fine.
#9 Mortal Kombat X Stuttering Fix
If your refresh rate (monitor’s) is more than 60, try lowering it. If the stuttering goes away, you can set launch options to run Mortal Kombat X according to your monitor’s refresh rate.
#10 Mortal Kombat X Controller Mapping/Input Issues
As a workaround, unplug and plug your controller back in before making any changes to the controls. If that doesn’t work, there must be some files missing. Verify the game files and it should fix the issue.
If you come across any other issue, comment and we will help you out!
