Developer Triternion recently published a long dev blog on its forum to talk about the future update plans for Mordhau video game.

Before we detail any upcoming content, do note that there’s no release date available for anything yet. The developer mentioned that most of the things they are currently working on “is work-In-Progress and may change prior to its release or be canceled”. Other than that, things will release when ready.

Triternion’s post-release priorities include full-fledged maps that will be playable in all modes. Upcoming maps include Feitoria, which is a sprawling town and accompanying village, between crowded streets, choke points and open areas.

Another map is called Castello, which is a southern-European/ Mediterranean inspired castle keep. Castello map will consist of narrow places with more areas of the map being inside the castle, including portcullis control and close-quarters fighting.

Don’t worry, the developers are also working on existing maps of Mordhau. The team is well aware of the balance and gameplay issues with the existing maps and working to resolve them as soon as possible.

Aside from the maps, Triternion is working on a ranked mode consisting of six tiers ranging from Bronze to Elite, each one will be divided into five ranks.

In addition to this, the developer is also working on a 64-player attack/defend mode. It’s currently in the design stage. The developer is working on to make sure that this new mode works with all existing maps of Mordhau.

As for Frontline mode, the developer said:

We’ve been looking into ways to reduce stalemates and make Frontline have more of a back-and-forth “tug of war” feel to it, and increase the player’s feel of involvement with the objectives. Nothing on this front is set in stone, but we’re looking into ways to improve the game mode nonetheless.

A client-side chat filter to help reduce toxicity and racism.

While muting players removes anything they’ve said, you can only do that after they’ve said it. We plan on adding a filter that will automatically remove inappropriate or offensive messages before you have to see them, which will help to curb toxicity quite a bit.

Triternion also mentioned in its forum post that the team is well aware of the demand for mod support. The developer said that it is currently focused on short-term goals of increasing the amount of content but they will look into mod support for Mordau in the future.

That’s not all, interested folks can head over to Mordhau forums to learn everything else that the developer is currently working on. There’s no release date yet for upcoming Mordhau update yet but we can expect it to arrive in coming months with most of the features mentioned above.
