Maradona Is Suing FIFA 18 For Showing His Image In The Juventus Corner

Maradona is suing Fifa 18 for showing his image in the Juventus corner. Says some mistakes cannot be made and someone was trying to be sneaky here.

After setting up a lawsuit against Konami linked to the exploitation of the rights of his image in PES 2018, Diego Armando Maradona now lashes out against Electronic Arts, due to a billboard with his face that appeared in FIFA 18.

Specifically, as reported by Eurosport, in a match between Napoli and Juventus at Juventus Stadium you can see a banner with the face of the Pibe de Oro in the Juventus curve. An oversight obviously resolved with a patch, but Maradona does not seem to have taken the matter too well.

This mistake was revealed by  Paolo Trapani an Italian journalist.

Maradona said

“I have instructed my lawyers to look into this, as some mistakes just cannot be made,” Maradona told Radio Kiss, Kiss Napoli.

“You can’t have that in a game that is played and seen by so many people. Someone was trying to be sneaky here, but they will pay for it.”

We remember that Maradona will be the testimonial of Pro Evolution Soccer until 2020, thanks to a partnership established between Konami Corporation and the company that manages the image rights of the Argentine athlete.

As for the match where Napoli has closed the gap at the top of rankings after defeating Juventus 1-0. He also commented on the match:

“I hope that good luck abandons Juve! Napoli are playing better, have the courage and mustn’t let Juventus get away from them. They’ve got to cling ontight.”

As for FiFA it’s still going strong and has sold more than 10 million copies breaking the previous record of the series. There’s also a rumor that Fifa 18 is getting a FiFA world cup update which came from a data miner known as  Fifanomics who claims to find references to a free package of FIFA World Cup though nothing is confirmed.
