Mafia 3, Battleborn and Other 2K Games Are Using Simplygon

Simplygon, the leading provider of automatic 3D optimization solutions for digital content creation, has just announced that Mafia 3, Battleborn and other 2K Games are using its technology. It will help developers to improve these games.

Some of these are coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this year. Meanwhile, there are some titles that aren’t yet announced by 2K but they are using Simplygon. According to a press release, simplygon was used to “automate pipelines allowing artists to focus less time on manual labor for Level of Detail while still delivering stunning visual experiences.”

By using Simplygon, devs experience large efficiency gains in skeletal and static character creation and mesh model optimization in video games.

Martin Ekdal, Co-founder and Vice President of Business Development at Simplygon said:

2K has always been a visionary in the games industry, and over the past decade has continuously redefined both narrative and graphical possibilities. With Simplygon we’re enabling creators like 2K to focus more on the creative parts of development while we automate multiple production processes and improve the performance.

Simplygon is popular among developers of AAA PC and console games, however, it is highly efficient for mobile projects as well.

Battleborn is going to be the first game released this year that uses this tech. It will arrive in May for consoles and PC.
