With the release of Madden NFL 18, developers are adding a new feature called Advanced Coaching Adjustments. Madden NFL 18 Advanced Coaching feature is the appearing in a Madden game for the very first time. It offers many different options for the player to adjust how the team plays on the field.

The following Madden NFL 18 Advanced Coaching guide will discuss this new feature in detail and how to best to use it. It is to be noted that you can not access this feature’s menu through the main menu. Instead, you need to be in the middle of a game in order to access Advanced Coaching Adjustment.

When in the middle of a game, hit the pause button to access the play screen.

Madden NFL 18 Best Offensive Coaching Adjustments

Ball Carrier

Conservative

Pro: Focuses on protecting the ball to reduce the chances of fumbling.
Con: Tones down the ability to break tackles.

Aggressive

Pro: Boosts chances of breaking through opponent tackling defenders.
Con: More chances of fumbling.

Blocking

Conservative

Pro: Fewer chances of a holding penalty.
Con: Hold blocks for lesser time on run and pass.

Aggressive

Pro: Hold blocks for a longer period of time for both run and pass.
Con: Increases chances of penalties on the offensive line.

Deep Pass Catching

Conservative

Pro: Receivers will always go for an RAC catch, increasing the chances of going after the catch.
Con: Increased interception and dropped balls.

Aggressive

Pro: Receivers will go for an aggressive catch.
Con: Fewer chances of running with the ball after a catch.

Intermediate Pass Catching

Conservative

Pro: Receivers will go for a Possession catch.
Con: Fewer runs after catch chances.

Aggressive:

Pro: Receivers will go for an aggressive catch.
Con: Fewer chances of the ball being knocked out attacking defenders.

Auto Flip Defense

On: Defensive play to automatically flip to better match your offensive formation.
Off: Formation won’t be flipped automatically.

Ball In Air Defense

Play Ball – AI will play the ball in contested situations

Pro: More chances of an interception.
Con: More chances of the receiver catching the ball, breaking tackles.

Play Receiver – AI will play the receiver in contested situations

Pro: Fewer chances of receiver breaking a tackle.
Con: Zero chances of an interception.

Swat Ball – AI defenders will try to swat the ball in contested situations

Pro: More chances of defender knocking the ball.
Con: Zero chance of an interception.

Pass Rush

Conservative

Pro: Outside rushers are going to hold off and play QB Contain, meanwhile, AI defenders are swatting passes.
Con: No Jump Snap bonus and allows more time for the QB in the pocket.

Aggressive

Pro: AI pass rushers will always try to jump snap.
Con: More chances of Offside penalty and more fatigue on pass rushers.

Strip Ball

Conservative

Pro: Fewer chances of broken tackles by offensive players.
Con: AI won’t strip the ball.

Aggressive

Pro: More chances of AI defenders stripping the ball.
Con: More chances of broken tackles by offensive players. More chances of face mask penalties on defenders.

Tacklers

Conservative

Pro: AI defenders tackle conservatively, rarely miss tackles.
Con: Increases chances of allowing yards after contact.

Aggressive

Pro: AI defenders hit harder for higher fumbling chances.
Con: Higher chances of defenders missing tackles.
