Left 4 Dead VR Leak Says Game Will Be Revealed At The Game Awards

Hot on the heels of the announcement of Half-Life: Alyx, a new leak from Valve has let loose information that a Left 4 Dead VR game is apparently going to be unveiled at the Game Awards this year. This is the second Valve VR title announced in the past several weeks.

While Half-Life: Alyx has gotten an announcement trailer, Left 4 Dead hasn’t gotten a similar thing, mainly because it’s going to be revealed at the Game Awards as stated above. We’ll likely get more information on it then, though exactly what it will involve remains to be seen.

Left 4 Dead hasn’t gotten a new game in a decade, when Left 4 Dead came out in 2009. While the game has been kept alive by various mods and additional campaigns, there hasn’t been any real news of a new Left 4 Dead game in years.

While the Left 4 Dead VR leak brings up a new game possibility for the series, this is once again a game that more casual gamers that lack VR sets won’t be able to play, and will likely generate a significant amount of criticism for it.

One can only hope that these two VR games, along with whatever else Valve has waiting in the wings, are only the precursor to more Valve games coming out sometime in the near future, including what might hopefully be not only a new mainline Half-Life game, but also a new Left 4 Dead game.

Other games will likely be revealed at the Game Awards, but considering the reaction to Half-Life: Alyx’s trailer, hopefully Left 4 Dead VR’s reaction will be just as good. If both Alyx and Left 4 Dead are successful, we’ll hopefully be getting more games from both series in the near future.

If you want to watch the Game Awards for this year, you’ll be able to watch them on Thursday, December 12 at 7:30 Central Standard Time, or whenever that is in your own local time.
