Kingdom Hearts 3 Won’t Feature Quick-Time Events, Says Tatsuya Nomura

The awaited Kingdom Hearts 3 will not feature any QTEs, according to Square Enix producer Tetsuya Nomura. Quick events are on-screen commands that ask players to press select buttons within a time-frame.

Kingdom Hearts 3 will have no such scenarios. Nomura spoke during a recent interview and said:

QTE (Quick Time Event. Actions that execute at the touch of a button according to when it displays on screen) isn’t there anymore. For people who have seen the “flashy” battles in Kingdom Hearts II, it felt like there were too many of them when doing these operations.

I for one won’t be missing Quicktime-Events, that’s for sure.

Square Enix is yet to announce a release date for Kingdom Hearts 3, but since Gamescom is just around the corner, we might hear something related to this.

Speaking of Gamescom, Square Enix will attend the event with a Final Fantasy XV demo. Moreover, fans are hoping that we might finally get a release date for this long in development title.

Whenever Final Fantasy XV comes out, it will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A PC version remains unannounced but reports suggest due to fan demand, Square Enix is considering a PC release as well.

However, nothing has been said so far, so keep expectations in-check.
