When the developer of Killer Instinct, Double Helix Studios was sold to Amazon, everyone was worried what would happen to the Xbox One Exclusive F2P title.

Spokesperson of Microsoft assured the fans that the company is going to bring a new studio that will take over the project and continue right where the previous team left off.

Now the new developer has been revealed and it is “Iron Galaxy Studios”, the people behind some of the popular games like Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike Online Edition and 2013’s DiveKick.

The CEO of Iron Galaxy confirmed the move in an interview to Polygon where he said:

This is an amazing opportunity to work on a game and a genre we are super passionate about.

Talking specifically about Killer Instinct the developer said that this is “probably the biggest thing we’ve ever done.”

The CEO himself is a big fan of the game and now he promises that the studio is very excited to work on the project and bring in new stuff for the players very soon.

I was a fan of the game. And to get to now take it over and start with this great base, and expand it and put new stuff on top of it, everyone in the company is super pumped up, and we can’t wait to show people what we’re going to be doing down the road.

Double Helix studio are now done with Killer Instinct, just one final character Fulgore is coming on April 9th in an update which will also include the arcade mode and online lobbies that will feature eight player rooms and you will have the option to spectate as well.
