Ed Boon is Teasing Johnny Cage’s Arrival in Mortal Kombat 11

Ed Boon is now teasing all the fans of Mortal Kombat series with a possible hint at Johnny Cage's arrival in Mortal Kombat 11.

Ed Boon is back at it again and now he’s teasing a new character joining the Mortal Kombat 11 roster which we believe to be is Johnny Cage. Mortal Kombat games are all about character reveals and that’s why the series co-creator Ed Boon has been busy on Twitter a lot lately confirming and denying fighters since the upcoming game’s announcement.

The news about Johnny Cage’s arrival in MK11 came from Boon’s Twitter account where he posted a picture of a character (which we are guessing to be John Carlton) flipping someone off with a hashtag of the game. It’s obvious that he’s not flipping off the fans but instead giving away a subtle hint of an upcoming character. You can check out the Tweet here.

It’s also not a confirmation that we will get to see Cage in the game but it’s definitely a big tease. It can also turn out to be just another troll by Ed Boon so don’t get your hopes high.

In case you don’t know about Cage also known as John Carlton, he’s one of the oldest characters in the Mortal Kombat series. John debuted in Mortal Kombat arcade as a movie star who also has martial art abilities. He’s without a doubt one of the most popular characters of the Mortal Kombat franchise.

Cage’s story is portrayed as a character who’s a struggling Hollywood star. In order to gain popularity, he joins the Mortal Kombat tournament to prove his talent and fighting skills eventually ending up as one of the top defenders of the earth. He also has an immature attitude and is one of the few comedy guys in the game which is why the fans love him. There has been no confirmation about his arrival in the upcoming game yet so that might change soon.

Apart from him, characters like Shaggy from the Scooby-Doo franchise, Terminator and Bayonetta are also expected to be a part of the game. Jade has been now confirmed to be coming back after her last appearance in Mortal Kombat 9. To please all the waiting fans, NeatherRealm Studios has released a gameplay trailer of Jade.

Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to release on April 23, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC as compared to its Nintendo Switch release date which is May 10 according to Nintendo UK. There have been many rumors regarding MK11’s delay in Europe and it’s now pretty much confirmed.
