No More Jameson Locke In Halo Infinite, Master Chief Will Be The Primary Focus

One of the criticism Halo 5 received from the fans was the game’s focus on Jameson Locke instead of Master Chief. However, with the upcoming Halo Infinite, Master Chief will be the primary focus of the game.

Speaking with GTM, studio head Chris Lee noted that 343 Industries has listened to fan feedback regarding Master Chief not being the main focus of Halo 5. He assured that Master Chief will be the focus of Halo Infinite as the game will follow his adventures after the vents of Halo 5.

The Team also heard feedback loud and clear on The amount of time spent playing as The Master Chief in Halo 5. In Halo Infinite, The game will focus on The Master Chief and continue his saga after the events of Halo 5.

However, this doesn’t mean the game will not feature Locke as he was the primary focus of Halo 5 and has become part of Halo universe. We speculate the Locke might be a part of the story but not as a playable character in the upcoming game.

Not only that, the upcoming Halo Infinite will be a direct sequel to Halo 5 instead of being a spin-off or a prequel to the game.

As for where the game is set, looking at the trailer we know that Master Chef will be visiting a Halo ring and according to fans, the game will be set on Halo Zeta.

The hint regarding the game’s setting comes from its very own reveal trailer in the tent scene where a radio is broadcasting a morse code. Decyphering the morse code reveals that the game will be set on Halo Zeta.

But, take it as a grain of salt as 343 Industries is yet to officially reveal the game’s setting. However, the morse code in the trailer all but confirms the game’s setting.

Furthermore, the trailer showcased for Halo Infinite at Microsoft’s E3 2018 presentation doesn’t represent the actual game as the trailer is just a game engine demo.

The game is being developed using the Slipspace Engine, which is 343 Industries’ proprietary game engine. The trailer was released to showcase how well the game engine can render assets and other in-game effects.

Halo Infinite is a first-person action shooter in development at 343 Industries exclusively for Xbox One.
