HP Envy x360 With AMD Vega APU Picked Up By AMD CEO Lisa Su From Best Buy

The HP Envy x360 features the new AMD Vega APU and it is the first laptop to feature this new Vega APU. AMD CEO Lisa Su took a trip down to Best Buy in order to get one. You must be wondering why AMD CEO Lisa Su would have to buy these products, doesn’t she get them for free? She was asked that on Twitter and she replied that she gets them as gifts for friends and family.

The HP Envy x360 features AMD Ryzen 5 2500U Quad-Core APU with AMD Vega graphics. The laptop also comes with 8 GB memory and 1 TB HDD for storage. The display of the laptop has been optimized for inking. We also looked int the Intel Coffee Lake H series CPUs that feature Radeon graphics and the partnership between Intel and AMD is very interesting indeed.

In other news, the head of RTG Raja Koduri has left AMD and has joined Intel. He will be working as the new Intel Chief Architect as well as the senior vice president of the new Core and Visual Computing Group, and general manager of a new initiative to drive edge computing solutions.

According to Dr. Murthy Renduchintala, Intel’s chief engineering officer and group president of the Client and Internet of Things Businesses and System Architecture:

“Raja is one of the most experienced, innovative and respected graphics and system architecture visionaries in the industry and the latest example of top technical talent to join Intel.”

While the resignation of Raja has been a great loss for the company, AMD has confirmed that this event will not impact the progress of the company. We shall see how true that statement turns out to be.
