Just like the preceding title, the map of The Division 2 covers a vast area. Traveling around the map can be a drag and can take up a chunk of your time. Luckily, to make your struggles easier, the game also included a “Fast Travel” feature.
The fast travel feature allows you to teleport between checkpoints, cutting your route short. Therefore, it is no surprise that you will be making use of it very frequently.
Unlock Fast Travel in The Division 2
At the beginning of the game after the Prologue, you will be introduced to a “Safe House”. A safe house is an area where you can access your “Stash” and receive new missions.
Now, how fast travel works, is that you are able to fast travel to safe houses only. There are no restrictions from where you can travel, as this can be done from any part of the map.
However, keep in mind that you have to unlock multiple safe houses in order to take full advantage of the feature.
In order to locate other safe houses, access the “World Map”. On the map, “Orange” house icons represent the safe houses. You can head over there and unlock them.
To fast travel, again access the map and hover the cursor over any safe house located on the map and preset square (PS4) or X (Xbox) to initiate the procedure.
One more thing to keep in mind is that this feature cannot get you out of sticky situations. It means that you will not be able to fast travel when enemies are nearby and you are engaged in combat. First, clear out the area and then perform the travel.
