2019 has been a very important year for almost every Marvel property. We got Avengers Endgame earlier this year and we got Spider-Man Far From Home just a few weeks ago. But that’s not all though, we have also been getting a lot of information about the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers game. During Comic-Con 2019 in San Diego, Marvel Games showed off some of the Loot, Ability Upgrades, and Customization offered in the Avengers game.
At E3 2019 during Square Enix’s press conference, we got to see a short Avengers gameplay reveal trailer. Since Comic-Con 2019 is taking place right now, we are seeing a lot from our favorite properties.
Just yesterday, we got to see an extended 20-minute Avengers gameplay during Marvel Games’ Comic-Con 2019 panel. While the gameplay pretty much featured the same A-Day San Francisco Bridge sequence, we did get a very short look at some of the loot, ability upgrades, and skin customizations that will be featured in the Avengers game once it releases.
Marvel’s Avengers is meant to be a loot-based game that also features gear customization for the playable characters. This makes it likely for players to spend some time grinding and defeating enemies to acquire their desirable gear. Every hero is meant to have their own unique abilities. Thor has his lightning powers, Iron Man has his Stark Tech, so on and so forth.
During the Avengers gameplay at Comic-Con 2019, there was a quick glimpse at an upgrade menu for Iron Man that looked fairly standard for a superhero game. The upgrade menu consisted of nodes on a tree that players will be able to select abilities to customize their character.
It was also revealed that PlayStation 4 players will be able to play the Avengers’ multiplayer beta mode in early 2020.
Right now, we don’t know just exactly how these abilities and upgrades will function in the game but it is likely we will get to know more about it since there is a long time in the Avengers game release date.
The Avengers releases May 15, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
