Halo 5: Guardians’ Single-Player Features the Chief’s Blue Team Companions

In both the single-player and cooperative modes of Halo 5: Guardians, Master Chief will be accompanied by three other fully controllable Spartans.

The July 2015 issue of Game Informer magazine reveals that the Master Chief’s fabled Blue Team will be featured in the latest Halo installment. Linda, Kelly, and Fred have all been present in the overall Halo canon, but have never been featured in the games themselves.

In the single-player campaign of Halo 5: Guardians, all three will appear during cut-scenes and when playing solo, players will be able to give each of the commands on the battlefield.

In the cooperative mode, though, all four Spartan members will be featured as soldiers with unique loadouts. Any one of them can be taken control of, and their distinct kit made use of.

At the moment, information on their relative loadouts has not been revealed. Perhaps each of them will feature a unique ability. We’ll probably be hearing more about Linda, Kelly, and Fred during Microsoft’s E3 2015 press briefing which is scheduled to take place next week.

The July issue also mentioned that agent Jameson Locke, who is tasked with tracking down the Master Chief and Blue Team, has recruited his own squad for the mission called Fireteam Osiris. This group includes the return of a fan favorite soldier – Edward Buck (Nathan Fillion), the Orbital Drop Shock Trooper featured in 2009’s Halo 3: ODST.

has halted regime changes, curbed demonic invasions, and averted at least one cosmic omnicide; all from the confines of his gaming chair.
