Rockstar Games has verified 10 new jobs for GTA Online, including five winning entries in its “I’m Not a Hipster” job design competition.
First of the contest-winning jobs is The 80’s Turf War, a “neighborhood gang shootout” inspired by action movies. Players start with a Micro SMG and limited ammo, and are encouraged to opt for various approaches rather than simply running and gunning in.
Second is Dubsta Warz, a point-to-point race where “roads are for the weak.” Panto-monium Microcircuit is another lap race which focuses on the player’s car control and the ability to find the correct racing line. The fourth job, Swedish Folkrace, is another race but focuses on off-road action instead, with sharp turns.
The final content-winning job is Hipster Death Rally, an off-road race featured on “the dirt roads by Senora Airstrip.” Ramps provided on the route can slow down your vehicle or provide an opportunity for an aerial overtake.
All five winners will receive an exclusive HIPSTER vanity plate and $1 million in GTA Online in-game currency.
The rest of the five additional verified jobs from Rockstar feature another bunch of races, which you can browse through here. Personally I’m beginning to see more races in GTA Online than anything. Rockstar really needs to add more ‘interesting’ jobs before this gets monotonous for everyone.
Rockstar Games has already announced a next-gen version of GTA V scheduled to release sometime later this year for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. The developer is expected to reveal the pre-order bonuses and actual release dates at Gamescom next month.
