GOG Holds Charity Sale With 3+ Games For $5

Digital distribution site Good Old Games, also known as GOG.com, is holding a sale for charity, starting now until November 12, 2013. This isn’t GOG’s first promotion, but it is the first time that they’re putting up games for charity.

In commemoration of the event, GOG has partnered up with not just one, but three charities in total. People can choose between the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Worldbuilders or Gaming for Food.

To give you an idea of who you’d like to support more, the WWF is an association helping to preserve nature for both fauna and flora.

Worldbulders is an effort that supports third world environments, to strive for better resources, education and so on.

Some may know Gaming for Food through its spokesperson Athene, a popular gaming personality. They offer similar third world support through a game purchasing system.

It’s in a similar approach as the latter that the GOG charity will allow its users to buy 3 or more games, starting at a price of $5. A total of ten games are available for purchase, which we’ll list below:

  • Darwinia
  • FTL: Faster than Light
  • Pid
  • Botanicula
  • Waking Mars
  • Incredipede
  • The Whispered World
  • Driftmoon
  • Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
  • Creatures: Village

To ensure that 100% of donations are sent to charity, without deduction of taxes and such, GOG is adding about 25% to the total out of its own pocket.

In turn, participating developers are waving royalties for the sold games as well, so every cent goes to a good cause. So, don’t be hesitant and donate at full will.
