According to Ubisoft, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is an always-online game. This means that Ghost Recon Breakpoint will require a constant internet connection, even when playing single player. In other words, it’s not playable offline just like the other Ubisoft titles including The Division 2 and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.
In response to a question on Twitter, Ghost Recon’s official account wrote that “#Breakpoint will require an active internet connection like The Division and Rainbow Six Siege.” This move will disappoint the players who prefer to play games offline like the previous Ghost Recon Wildlands. Breakpoint being online only will also be a problem for those gamers who don’t have a fast or stable internet connection.
The previous entry in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon was playable offline. However, it did feature drop in and out multiplayer. Apparently, there were some limits due to Wildlands being offline, which Ubisoft doesn’t want for the upcoming Ghost Recon game. Ubisoft is expected to detail the reasons for making Breakpoint an online always game sometime soon.
