Gears of War Ultimate Edition Will Give You Access to the Entire Series

If you have pre-ordered Gears of War Ultimate, or plan on buying it when it comes out, then get ready to unlock the entire series on Xbox One.

According to a new announcement, those who buy Gears of War Ultimate Edition, or grab the Ultimate Edition Bundle, are going to have the entire series added to their library via the Backward Compatibility feature.

By playing Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox Live from Aug. 25 through Dec. 31, 2015, you’ll get access to Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment in Backward Compatibility when it launches this fall. In Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.

Microsoft will roll-out the first wave of BC games sometime this Fall, and the series should become available as part of BC during the same time.

Those who do not wish to buy the Ultimate Edition, should rest assured that every Gears of War game will be available on Xbox One separately as well (via BC of course).

Gears of War Ultimate Edition will release on August 25 on Xbox One. You can grab the Ultimate Edition bundle for $349.99 from Amazon.

The bundle will include the game and a standard 500GB Xbox One without Kinect.
