With Avengers: Endgame wrapping up 10 years’ worth of story building, everyone wondered “What’s next for Marvel?” They looked forward to Marvel’s next move: Spider-Man Far From Home, which was Marvel’s answer.
Spider-Man Far From Home marks the beginning of a new phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s currently playing in cinemas and it’s doing great so far. It even has several nods to other Spider-Man properties including Insomniac’s Spider-Man on PlayStation 4, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, Spider-Man Noire and Into the Spiderverse. But perhaps the most interesting nod is to the latest Spider-Man PS4 game, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by the dev team at Insomniac Games.
Spoiler Alert: If you haven’t watched Spider-Man Far From Home yet, this article may not be for you. Go and see Far From Home and then come back. You have been warned.
Mike Yosh, the lead animator at Insomniac Games for Spider-Man PS4, tweeted out a photo of the dev team attending a Spider-Man Far From Home screening.

Towards the end of Spider-Man Far From Home, there is a sequence where Spider-Man swings through Manhattan in his newly acquired black-and-red spider suit. Spider-Man then takes a selfie using his phone just like how he does in Insomniac’s PS4 game.
This clear nod to Spider-Man PS4’s photo mode was so well received by the folks at Insomniac Games that they couldn’t help themselves to a long applause as they cheered at the big screen.
Even though Far From Home isn’t directly a part of Spider-Man PS4, there is an undoubted love from both parties for the other. Celebrating the release of Far From Home, Insomniac Games just recently added two new suits from the movie into the game. You can get the new “Upgraded” suit as well as the “Stealth” suit and swing around New York in Spider-Man PS4.
