Our Forza Horizon 4 Beginners Guide will help getting you acquainted with all the things you should be aware before starting your racing adventure.

Forza Horizon 4 Beginners Guide

The majority of your experience in Forza Horizon 4 will revolve around My Horizon Life. You can check out this from the in-game menu.

It states all the challenges and races you need to succeed in to proceed forward along with how exactly you level up in your progression.

For the performance of your car, you can check out how skill points for your vehicles work in the Car Mastery tab. Here, you will find many perks specific to different cars.

The benefits include higher scores from races, overall performance, and even free slot machines called Wheelspins.

Know the Value of Credits
Getting new skills and even new cars is done via the in-game currency called Credits or simply CRs.

We have an entire CRs Farming Guide for it alone but if you are in a hurry, know that there are multiple ways of earning this currency and you should be going for all of them to maximize the output.

Complete challenges for an easy way of earning CRs. Alternatively, you can try your luck at a fun and usually rewarding mini-game, the Wheelspins.

Sooner or later, you are going to have to try your luck at Wheelspins if you want to avoid the real grind and collect rewards quicker and more easily.

Not only do you get a bunch of cosmetic items to better customize your character but there is also the chance of earning CRs as we mentioned above and even rare vehicles which you would not be able to unlock otherwise.

You come across Wheelspins occasionally as you level up your cars, find some scattered across the map, and via challenges in the My Horizon Life. For more details regarding this feature, check out our earning Wheelspins guide.

Barn Finds
These old sheds make their return to the series. For those unfamiliar, finding one of these hidden huts will award you with a rare and classic vehicle which you would not be able to unlock or purchase any other way.

These are scattered around the world and with enough effort and commitment, you will definitely be coming across most of them.

Fast Traveling
Being such a huge map, as much as a realistic representation of Great Britain as possible, sometimes driving all the way to the next challenge can feel tedious and unnecessary.

In such cases, you need to purchase special buildings that let you fast travel around the map. There are 10 in total, each costing quite a lot but if there is one thing you should spend the CRs on, it is definitely this.

This way, you can focus on the real tasks and cut the boring filler out of the way.

Choose Your Car for the Event Wisely
Different weather conditions and different surfaces prompt the use of a suitable vehicle.

Of course, you can still be driving your Aston Martin in a dirt track but a truck or a buggy will certainly feel better to drive and will get your more points too when it comes to time trials, drifting, and races.

Now, rainy weather and wet surfaces really mean that you should be looking for a car which has a much more accessible and easier handling as opposed to the other one.

While on a sunny day in dry, rugged landscapes, you can go for max speed and do not concern yourself with handling that much.

Make Use of Your Assistant
Your AI companion, Anna has a lot she can offer to you. Be it for earning more fans, racing for pure fun, or taking on challenges suiting your particular needs; just give the instruction to Anna and she will highlight the potential areas on the map.

Some of these instructions include to gain more Influence. She will automatically set the waypoint on your map and everything feels more organized and easy to process.

Customize Your Car and Character to Your Liking
Thanks to a bunch of goodies earned from Wheelspins and as rewards from racing generally, you will be able to do paint jobs on vehicles and choose from a wide range of apparel for your driver.

These options are available from the Garage tab.

Vehicle customization includes everything from rims to license plates, while for the rider; you have a shirt, hats, shoes, glasses, etc. Make the most out of your experience with the cosmetic glory.

This is all we have in our Forza Horizon 4 Beginners Guide. If there is anything else that you would like to add, be sure to let us know in the comments section below!
