Fortnite NFL Skins Get Pulled Days After Their Introduction, But Why?

If you’re one of those lucky people who decided to get your favorite football team’s jersey last week when Epic Games added them to Fortnite, congratulations! You’re one of the ones who got one of the Fortnite NFL skins before they were removed from the game just yesterday, November 13.

There are a wide variety of Fortnite skins available, all of which can be used to personalize your character in a way that you want. The Fortnite NFL skins were likely put up for the same reason, so that you could represent your team. Ordinarily them being removed wouldn’t be a big fuss since Epic often rotates skins out, but the sheer speed that the NFL skins were removed raises questions.

While the NFL has had its share of controversy, ranging from Aaron Hernandez (who committed murder and would later kill himself in his cell), various domestic abuse allegations towards players, and most recently Colin Kaepernick and the kneeling trend that many other players have picked up, there shouldn’t be any real reason among those to pull the skins.

But, considering how expensive (and by proportion, profitable) it is to partner up with the NFL, along with it being the first time the game has partnered up with an outside force for skins, the Fortnite NFL skins only getting a short time in the spotlight seems like an enormous waste of money for Epic.

So, either the deal was always seen by the company as a limited-time event, or there’s a reason for the skins being removed that Epic isn’t telling us. Either way, we might see the skins again, we might not. It all depends on if the NFL, most likely, is willing to put them up again.

Either way, hopefully you got the chance to get your favorite of the Fortnite NFL skins, and if you didn’t, hopefully you can find other skins you like later.
