Fortnite Crystal Weapons Guide to help you understand everything you need to know about getting the Crystal Weapons, their strengths, & downsides.

Crystal Weapons in Fortnite are basically the empowered variants of your Normal Weapons. The CWs are highly sought-after because of their incredible damage potential. However, before jumping the gun, do note that these weapons severely lack when it comes to durability. Therefore, only think about getting these weapons if you’re comfortable with the tradeoff.

In our Fortnite Crystal Weapons Guide, we’ve detailed everything you need to know about getting the Crystal Weapons.

Fortnite Crystal Weapons

Now that you know about the trade-off that you must make for choosing the Crystal Weapons, let’s talk about getting them. Crystal Weapons in Fortnite are basically 4-star Evolution Weapons. The reason they are called Crystal Weapon is that once you evolve a 3-star weapon into a 4-star weapon, you’re asked to choose between Malachite & Shadowshard – both of which are the crystals that you can find in the game.

During a weapon’s evolution to 4-star, you’re asked to choose the path that it takes. The ‘Normal’ path provides a weapon with additional durability, similar to other tiers. The ‘Crystal’ path, on the other hand, imbues it with additional damage at the cost of durability.

It’s also important to realize that the Crystal Weapons are sidegrades of Epic/Legendary. This is the reason why they’re already Level 30 when you take a look at them in the Collection.
