Far Cry 6 Leak Says Game Will Release Before March 2021

Jason Schreier recently posted a Far Cry 6 game leak that said the game would release before March 2021, though it hasn't been confirmed yet.

A new Far Cry 6 leak has apparently revealed the game’s existence, and that it will release sometime before March of next year, 2021. While nothing is officially confirmed yet, there is at least a small amount of evidence that it could be on Ubisoft’s list at some point in the future.

The leak itself came from Kotaku’s Jason Schreier, seen as one of the bigger and more trustworthy names in video game journalism, who said that two of the new games that Ubsioft would be releasing in this coming year are Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry.

Currently, Ubisoft has five different games that they plan on releasing this coming fiscal year, which runs from January of this year to March of 2021. These games include Rainbow Six: Quarantine, Gods and Monsters, and Watch Dogs Legion. However, the last two games are still unnamed.

While some, including Schreier, believe that these may be the new Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell games (the former having not had one since Odyssey in 2018, the other Blacklist back in 2013), the Far Cry 6 leak might be one of them, especially since Ubisoft said the two unannounced games were from two of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises.

This doesn’t necessarily guarantee that it’s a new Far Cry game, especially since Far Cry New Dawn only launched back around this time in 2019, but a new mainline Far Cry game might be something to look forward to for those who felt jilted by the endings of Far Cry 5 and the very existence of New Dawn.

Jason Schreier has also not given us any real reason to doubt him, but even leaks from the most trustworthy of sources can end up being wrong. If the Far Cry 6 leak that he posted on his Twitter actually does turn out to be accurate though, we’ll likely only be hearing about it at a major gaming event.
