Far Cry 5 Gameplay Footage Brings the Boom Boom Boom to the E3 Showfloor

During Ubisoft’s Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 media briefing, Dan Hay, the Executive Producer, took to the stage to show the upcoming Far Cry 5. As already confirmed, the game takes place in Hope County, Montana overrun by a fanatic religious cult. The video opens in a church with armed personnel raising their weapons and singing the Amazing Grace.

The presentation quickly transitioned into a gameplay video with a ton of crazy gunfights, chases, and what not! The highlight of the entire gameplay footage was a companion dog – kind of like Dogmeat in Fallout 4 and D-Dog in TPP – enters the fray and snatches a weapon from an enemy.

A little further into the video, an airplane enters the battle and drops co-op players that dip into a large-scale chaos. Everything looked incredible but I personally loved the believe-able setting that Ubisoft brought to the table. I mean, it makes perfect sense that the National Guard and Federal Government were under a huge dose of anesthesia as one of the country’s small towns went off the grid.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Far Cry 5 is planned to hit the store shelves on Feb. 27, 2018.
