New Fallout 76 Update Breaks Legendary Armor Effects

Fallout 76 has been broken once again. Those who have been following the new installment since its rocky launch won’t be much surprised to know how update 16, which went live just a day ago, has already made all endgame builds pointless. While Bethesda Softworks will be hoping to fix Fallout 76 to some degree before heading out for the holidays, here’s what the new bug does.

Basically, players have discovered that following the new update, reloading your weapons may cause your legendary armor effects to break. In the following video, notice how the legendary armor has a defensive value of 519 at the start but drops down to 414 after the player finishes reloading.

The Fallout 76 community is currently divided between whether the bug gets triggered all the time or occasionally. Some players have also reported that the bug sometimes doesn’t even break the legendary armor effects. Hence, the bug appears more complicated and Bethesda Softworks will have a hard time trying to pinpoint the root of the problem. In the meanwhile, the only thing certain is that reloading your weapons in Fallout 76 can cause your legendary armor effects to break.

Saying that Fallout 76 has had issues since launch would be an understatement. The game has been riddled with issues from day one and every second update has more or less broken the game even further. It almost seems like for every problem that Bethesda Softworks fixes, two new bugs get birthed.

Last month, the Australian Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (ACCC) made sure that Bethesda Softworks honors refunds for Fallout 76. That being said, only purchases made between November 24, 2018 and June 1, 2019 will be taken into consideration. Anyone in the country who purchased Fallout 76 afterwards won’t be eligible for a refund.

Adding insult to injury, Bethesda Softworks has decided to offer a new subscription service for Fallout 76 under the guise of delivering more content. The decision turned out to be pretty controversial since it basically made less of players who have been sticking with the game since release.

Fallout 76 is now available on playStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
