Is The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim on Nintendo Switch Visually Enhanced?

Todd Howard has refused to confirm whether or not The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim on Nintendo Switch is the Special Edition or base.

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim on Nintendo Switch was confirmed recently by Bethesda. Since then, we have wondered if Bethesda bringing the base version of the newly released special edition to Nintendo Switch.

However, Todd Howard has refused to confirm whether or not The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim on Nintendo Switch is the Special Edition or base. Due to the lack of raw power under the hood, we doubt Nintendo Switch is going to be able to handle Skyrim on Nintendo.

Nintendo Switch is a handheld so we shouldn’t expect super enhanced graphics for such a demanding game. The Elder Scrolls Skyrim Special Edition released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC last year.

The community has mixed reactions over Nintendo Switch. It is priced right but the accessories are shamelessly overpriced. It is underpowered and its battery life won’t last more than 3 hours on demanding games like Zelda. Nintendo needs to understand that failure with Switch is not an option here. Just recently, an analyst mentioned that failure means Nintendo may have to move out of the hardware business.

The machine is releasing on March 3 for $299.

According to Serkan Toto, a Tokyo-based game consultant, that is indeed the most viable option for Nintendo if NX fails or only sees moderate success.

Another flop in launching new hardware should be a sign that Nintendo is better off providing its rich game title franchises to smartphones, Sony and Microsoft.
