EA Revises Projected Revenue for FY 2019 As Battlefield 5 Sales Continue to Suffer

Battlefield 5 was all over the news in 2018 but not for good terms. Now the Battlefield 5 has finally launched but its sales are not something that EA is not proud of. EA is not happy with the current sales of Battlefield 5 which is why they have no revised their project sales for FY 2019 from $5.55 billion to now $5.20 billion.

This doesn’t surprise us at all as Battlefield 5 sales have not been good since its launch. In the UK, Battlefield 5 sales were 60% less than the launch sales of Battlefield 1. As for the US, Battlefield 5 managed to debut in the third place on the NPD charts but the overall sales up till now have been disappointing.

Battlefield 5 released a month ago and the game is already being discounted by various retailers which is why the total number of sales are worse than what EA expected. As for the Battlefield 5 reviews go, most of the people don’t like it. More and recent Battlefield 5 reviews tell us that the game is a complete mess.

One of the reasons for the disappointing sales of Battlefield 5 is the lack of major content missing from the game. When the game launched, it was missing a big chapter from the campaign that’s the first chapter of Tides of War.

The battle royale mode which is also said to be huge is also missing from the game. EA DICE has planned to launch the battle royale mode in March 2019 which is months away so it’s pretty disappointing. People are already playing Black Ops 4 Blackout mode and we think that by the time EA releases the battle royale mode, it will be too late to attract the fans as they are already migrating from Battlefield 5 to other games.

That’s not all as EA DICE is having a lot of trouble addressing the issues of TTK (Time To Kill). This TTK (Time To Kill) change in Battlefield 5 was a surprise change in the game by EA DICE. DICE introduced a lot of weapons nerf in Battlefield 5 which resulted in TTK (Time To Kill) very short. Though then DICE reversed them and it all resulted in being too much as the veterans started to complain about it.

We’ve seen [TTK has] been a big talking point and causing a divide in the community, which was never our intention. We have been listening closely to what you’ve all been saying,

DICE then also introduced a conquest mode in Battlefield 5 which consisted of the original TTK to appease everyone but it further divided the community which is already very small. Though EA has now issued a statement saying that they will improve it in the future.

Changes to the game carrying this kind of weight needs clearer, earlier communication before getting rolled out. We will improve how we roll out updates in the future and respond more quickly when you have questions or concerns.

With the current problems that the game consists of, we don’t think that we will be seeing any rise in sales going further. However, we expect DICE to bring more content to the game and to listen to the feedback and bring changes accordingly which is the only way they can bring their fans back to the game.
