EA is Avoiding Questions on Mass Effect Andromeda Story DLC Cancellation

Mass Effect Andromeda story DLC has been the topic of hot debate over the past week or so. First, reports from Sinclair Networks claimed that the story DLC is no longer in development. Just days after the report, BioWare came out and called Sinclair Networks a “Fake company,” but not addressing the matter at hand.

GamesRadar now got in touch with EA in hopes of finally clearing things up. However, BioWare and EA are both avoiding the questions by offering standard replies for things they do not wish to address. When asked about the cancellation of Mass Effect Andromeda story DLC, the publisher stated that they “have no news regarding Mass Effect: Andromeda DLC at this time.”

Interestingly, while they shot down Sinclair Networks and are avoiding the questions from publications, Kotaku got in touch with an insider who confirmed the cancellation of Andromeda’s Story DLC.

While Bioware is not saying much about the status of the Mass Effect franchise as a whole but the cancellation of the DLC won’t come as a surprise. Previously, a report suggested that EA has put the Mass Effect franchise on ICE.

According to the report, Bioware Montreal, Mass Effect Andromeda’s developer, has been turned into a support studio, however, this does not mean that there won’t be another game in Mass Effect franchise but, the studio will let the series sit for a while rather than working on the next iteration immediately.
