Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age Western Release Date On PS4 And PC Announced

Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age coming to the West later this year on Playstation 4 and PC. The famous JRPG is set for release on September 4th.

Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age is coming to the West later this year on Playstation 4 and PC as publisher Square Enix announced. The famous JRPG is set for release on September 4th but, unfortunately, there won’t be a 3DS version. However, a Nintendo Switch edition of Dragon Quest 11 will be available sometime after its release on the aforementioned platforms.

For a long time now, Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age has been only available in Japan with its release date in the West being a well-kept secret. During that time, the game has won multiple gaming awards and received critical praise, including PlayStation’s Platinum Prize and a perfect 40/40 score from Famitsu, as Square Enix informed western fans.

The company has also given a description of Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age, detailing its content, some of which weren’t available in its Japanese version. In addition to delivering over 100 hours of content, the western release of Dragon Quest 11 will also feature several upgrades and enhancements that were not included in the Japanese release, including:

  • English voice-overs
  • Draconian Quest, a hard mode that offers additional challenges for more experienced players.
  • Overhauled menus and user interface, with graphical enhancements and more intuitive navigation.
  • Camera Mode, allowing players to take in views of the beautiful landscape, character renders and ferocious monsters in detail.
  • A new dash function and many other system enhancements such as improved character and camera movement

Furthermore, a Nintendo Switch version of the game is already in the works but it won’t be ready as soon as the game officially releases. If you want to play the game but haven’t found the perfect successor for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild yet, then you should wait for this one to release on the console. Sadly, Square Enix also announced that they won’t be bringing Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age to Nintendo 3DS, which seems self-explanatory just by looking at how graphically detailed this game is on Playstation 4.
