Dragon Ball FighterZ Unlocks
Starting off with the game, you will have access to a total of 21 playable characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ, but there are 3 characters locked away. Each require a certain task to be accomplished before they become playable.
Out of these three characters, two of them you are well familiar with, which are SSGSS Goku and Vegeta. While the third one is a new addition to the series, Android 21.
How to Unlock Goku SSGSS
You can go about unlocking God Goku in one of three ways.
One is to simply play through the game and earn 500,000 Zeni, which is something easily earned by playing through the story or going through the Arcade Ladder.
A second option, that relies more on skill, is that you could go ahead and beat the Arcade Ladder (Hyperbolic Time Chamber Course) on Hard difficulty (S-Rank or A-Rank). To unlock the Hard mode, you will first have to beat it on Normal difficulty.
Alternatively, if you pre-ordered the game, you’ll already have God Goku unlocked, all set to go!
How to Unlock Vegeta SSGSS
SSGSS Vegeta can be unlocked by completing the Arcade Ladder (Extreme Gravity Spaceship Course.
Or, you can just spend the 300,000 Zeni you have accumulated from playing the other different modes of the game.
Pre-ordering the game, will unlock SSGSS Vegeta as well.

How to Summon Shenron
Summoning the Legendary Dragon Shenron, that we all know and love, isn’t as easy of a task as it used to be in other games. To do so, you will have to pull off long chains of combos.
A 10-hit combo, will get you a 1-star Dragon Ball, a 20-hit combo will get you a 2-star Dragon Ball and so on. Alternatively, you could try and use a Light Attack combo to be awarded random Dragon Balls.
Once you have all the Seven Balls, all you need to do is make sure you have Seven Bars of Super Meter and initiate a Light Attack combo, which should bring Shenron out. He will grant you any four wishes of your choosing:
- Restore My Health: Restore your current character to full health.
- Bring Back My Ally: Revive a lost team member with 50 percent health.
- Give Me the Ultimate Power: Boost your Ki gauge to maximum (7 Bars).
- Make Me Immortal: Restore 5 percent of your health, and auto-restoration for your super meter
